Yeshua the Messiah

I trust my soul to Jesus, but after that I question what being a "Christian" really means to Jesus. This is my question: "what are the core, unmovable, unchangeable tenants of our faith that cross all times periods, cultures, and all those other changeable factors that happen with the movement of time and place."

I want to be a Christian. I want to live a full, pleasing, faith-filled life, but one that is 100% me, 100% God, and 100% here (wherever here is at the time). I want my faith to be full, rich, and complete- with the joy you see in the New Testament after the Spirit comes. When I look at Jesus' life and the apostles they seemed to be able to look through their culture straight to the heart, and straight to the core of the gospel. Christ ate with sinners yet spoke in the synagogue- and never compromised anything in either place.

Any thoughts from anyone on all this?
