When does the Great Father speak to us? Does He speak when we need to answer a math problem or some analytical issue? Does He speak when we are mindful of our intellect or pride of life? Or does He speak to our hearts, when we are troubled or in the throws of despair?
The Great Father I know does not desire to inflate our intellect or scientific abilities. Though He offers inspiration to each of these, He speaks to our hearts. Our Father speaks to us within the confines of growing our relationship with Him.
When we hear His voice, there is healing. It oozes like a salve and nourishment to our souls. Our circumstances are often adverse because they are designed for us to cry out to HIM. These are the times when He is so close to us. When He treasures our time of need.
I fear we should actually long for the storms of life so we can cry… because we don’t want to cry anymore… because, we have found crying so useless in the past. But I want to show you crying is not the wrong we once thought.
Wait for the Lord
The word wait in the Hebrew is more like longing, yearning – a serious heart eagerness expectant for the Lord to work. It is a waiting, hoping, longing that comes from the heart. There is no passive, restive, disconnected waiting with this word. It is only with desire in our deep places that we “WAIT” for the Lord.
